Holiday Giving!

This week Jr. Beta collected all of the toy donations from HMS homeroom classes.  These toys are being dropped off at North Fulton Community Charities today and will go in the Santa's Shop.  Santa's Shop will be giving toys and gifts to families that are struggling this holiday season.  NFCC is expected to help 300 families with gifts this year!  Hopewell students collected 2 cars full of gifts to help this cause!  Way to go Hopewell and Jr. Beta!  If you would still like to give a gift donation, NFCC will be collecting toys until Friday, December 16th.  Please visit their holiday website, www.nfccholiday.org, for more information.

Hopewell helps during the holidays!

Here are all the things Hopewell is doing to help during the holidays!
  • Knitting club is making scarves for the Special Olympics. ( if you know how to knit and are interested, see Ms. Bolling or Mrs. Adams)
  • The canned food drive was a great success! We raised over 8,000 items!
  • Santa's shop is in progress! Please send in unwrapped toys to your homeroom teacher! We are collecting items for NFCC's Santa's Shop.
Also a huge thanks to Mr. Morris for being the MC at the very successful Mix it up day!

Great Job on the Canned Food Drive HMS!

Thank to all of our students and families for your contributions to the canned food drive.  We met our school goal of over 8,000 donated items and filled up an entire truck!  We even beat the total number of items donated last year.

Our next efforts will be to collect unwrapped toys and gifts for the holiday season.  Please start to think about what items you might want to donate.

Thank you Hopewell for All You Do!

Way to go Hopewell on a very successful canned food drive!  We have collected over 6,000 food items.  Thank you for all of your donations that have made this drive a success.

Thank you to the students and faculty that attended 11Alive's Rachel's Challenge event at the Georgia Dome.  Our students presented our school's kindness chain, contributing to the 10 miles of kindness chains donated by area schools, organizations, and businesses.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with their friends and family.  Remember to give thanks for all the blessings in your life, and consider what acts of kindness you can share with others over the holiday break.

Happy Veteran's Day

Today our students watched a presentation honoring staff and family that have served our country.  Thank you to our teachers and community members for your service to our nation!

Many of our students and faculty are participating in 11Alive's Rachel's Challenge assembly today at the Georgia Dome.  The presentation includes honoring our veterans and presenting one of the largest kindess chains to date.

Campus Beautification & Community Clean-Up

Hopewell Students are helping make our campus and our community beautiful!

The Eco-Explorer Club cleaned up the Hopewell Adopt-a-Road last Saturday. It was cold and picking up trash is never easy. Hopewell is very proud of these students for volunteering their time to clean up our community!

Also, last Friday, parents, students, and Hopewell staff members gathered after school to work on spreading mulch around the building.  Thank you to all of the people who stayed on a Friday in the cold and the rain to help make Hopewell beautiful!

Next Friday is Veteran's Day!  We need your help!

In order to honor veterans in our community, we would like for Hopewell students, parents, and staff to send in pictures of veterans you know with a brief description of the person.  Please send pictures and discriptions to either Mrs. Tongue (tonguem@fultonschools.org) or Ms. Silverman (silverman@fultonschools.org).  They will be shown on Friday before the announcements.  Thanks!

Respect.  It's a Hopewell Thing!

Welcome to our website!  This website is created by Hopewell students to share all the great things that we do each and every day to add to the kindness chain.  If you are in a club or class, and you would like to publish what you are doing, then we would like to hear from you!  Please tell your supervising teacher that you would like to be highlighted on the blog, and your teacher can help you.
